Description
The low voltage (LV) battery has failed a test 5 times that checks for shorted battery cells. May indicate the LV battery has at least one shorted cell and is unable to fully support the LV electrical system. Note: A single failure of this test does not reliably indicate a condition affecting LV battery function. Only after 5 failed tests will the vehicle controller set this alert.
Condition
The LV battery has failed a shorted cell test at least 5 times. Alert log signal data should provide more information, including the load current, battery temperature, and voltage dip measured during testing.
Clear Condition
The vehicle controller loses all electrical power from the LV battery and power conversion system (PCS), as would happen during LV battery replacement.
Potential Impact
The LV battery has at least one shorted cell, which could prevent it from adequately supporting the vehicle's electrical systems.
