What does the PM_a079_rcuMIA alert mean?
Propulsion Monitor (PM) Warning: Redundant (Brake) Control Unit (RCU) MIA
What you'll see in your Tesla
- Not Available
What triggers it
The Propulsion Monitor (PM) is not receiving signals from the Redundant (Brake) Control Unit (RCU) properly. Controller Area Network (CAN) issues should be diagnosed and can be caused by RCU not transmitting messages or general bus error frames or shorts.
When it clears
The alert will clear on the next drive cycle after the Controller Area Network (CAN) issues have been resolved.
Potential impact
The Redundant (Brake) Control Unit (RCU) is unavailable to perform backup braking request and may impact traction and vehicle dynamics control performance. The vehicle should be driven with extreme caution if the traction or vehicle dynamics control systems are faulted.
