IDB_a029_pressureSensNotCal

Power braking assist reduced

What does the IDB_a029_pressureSensNotCal alert mean?

The Integrated Dynamic Brake (IDB) pressure sensor offsets are not calibrated.

What you'll see in your Tesla

  • Power braking assist reduced
  • Braking may require increased effort

What triggers it

The pressure sensor is not calibrated.

When it clears

The pressure sensor calibration routine has been successfully executed.

Potential impact

Only Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) may be available. The IDB enters fallback mode and relinquishes controlling status to the Redundant Control Unit (RCU). The RCU may assume controlling status and perform backup brake boost, but Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Brake Traction Control (BTC), Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), Panic Brake Assist (PBA), Hydraulic Fade Compenration (HFC), Controlled Deceleration via Parking brake (CDP), Brake Disc Wipe (BDW), External Brake Request (EBR), and Secondary Collision Mitigation (SCM) may be unavailable. Increased braking effort may be necessary to achieve desired deceleration. The vehicle should be driven with extreme caution.
