What you'll see in your Tesla

  • Not Available

What triggers it

The DI is receiving improper or implausible brake torque signals from the ESP. Check alert payload brake torque data for rear left (brakeTorqueReL) and rear right (brakeTorqueReR) to see the specific cause (frozen signal, signal rate limit exceeded, or CAN issue). CAN issues should be diagnosed and can be caused by the ESP not communicating on the PARTY CAN bus or general bus error frames or shorts.

When it clears

If this alert is set due to rate or freeze check, it will clear on the next drive cycle. If the alert is set due to CAN issues it will clear on the drive cycle after the CAN issues have been resolved.

Potential impact

Traction control and stability control may not operate as expected due to this error. The vehicle should be driven with extreme caution if these systems are not operating as expected.
